Appointing a security provider is a decision that affects the safety of your people, premises and operations every day. A few checks before you sign can save a great deal of trouble later.
Start with licensing. A security company must hold a valid licence from the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) for the work it carries out. Ask to see the licence, confirm the company's SSM registration, and if you are a government buyer, check that it is registered with the Ministry of Finance.
“ Effective security is not simply about placing guards at a site. It is about understanding the environment, defining responsibilities and maintaining standards throughout the assignment. ”
Next, look at how the service will be run. Does the provider audit the site before deployment? Are there written post orders, active supervision and a clear incident reporting process? Quality certification such as ISO 9001:2015 and membership of an industry body such as PIKM show that these systems are documented and reviewed.
